Overview
Pink guava is a nutritional powerhouse fruit that originated in South America and spread worldwide through Portuguese colonists. Pink guava is considered the sweetest of all varieties of guava in India. It is widely used as Pink guava pulp, edible fruit, and exported as IQF pink guava dice. Pink guavas are commonly cultivated in warm and tropical regions. India is the largest producer of the Pink guava variety.
The processing variety of pink guava is primarily produced in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. As the demand for pink guava increases yearly, the fruits are exported as pulp, concentrate, and frozen pink guava dice. Due to the non-availability and health benefits of guava in Europe and America, the pink guavas are shipped in the form of IQF pink dice.

IQF Pink guava dice/slice manufacturing process
ABC Fruits manufactures and exports high-quality IQF pink guava dice from pink guavas sourced directly from farmers. Once the guavas reach our factory, the guavas are sorted, and rotten or damaged fruits are removed. The fruits are washed with peracetic acid and plain water to remove dirt. The dicer cut the pink guava fruits into dice based on the customer’s requirement. The dice are inspected on the conveyor to remove damaged dice/slices. The guava dice are then subjected to a blast freezer to produce IQF pink guava dice. The product is then fed to the vibrator conveyor for the de-watering process and sent to a vibro shifter to remove the undersized frozen pink guava dice. The product is packed in 10 kg LDPE bags and stored in 5-ply carton boxes. Eventually, the product is sent to the metal detector to check for physical hazards. The product is maintained at -18 degrees celsius to maintain a shelf life of 24 months.
